Wave is the hard imprint of an ephemeral motion, a fluid dynamic simulated by a ripple sectioned by the circular contour of the clutch. Designed in collaboration with Lee Savage, this luxury piece was inspired by contemporary art and architecture, infused by the philosophies of conceptual artists like So LeWitt and Donald Judd, yet breaking the clean polygons and lines. Lee’s work
resembles pure minimalism in both the shape and materials of her pieces, yet her 2018 collection went beyond the traditional box mold of her previous work to incorporate curvature in search for a static dynamism. Both by form and how the light reflected on the plated brass finish, this surface achieved an aesthetic of perceived motion in time.
